The Flute Fairy

The Flute Fairy

Today I entertained preschoolers at a children's museum. Three field trips and educational classes were planned at the museum. It was wonderful. Some tots were dancing, others were singing. Still others stood and watched me. They loved Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star and the Farmer in the Dell. Polly Wolly Doodle was a hit, too. :) 'Take Me Out To The Ballgame' is always a blast!

One little girl in particular reminded me of myself at her age. She said she wanted to play the flute and had a bunch of questions for me. It was great! I introduced her to the flute for a bit. All I can do is plant the seed. I found out from her mother that she loved music. The little girl wanted to play an instrument but couldn't decide between piano, guitar, or flute. Hopefully, she will start with the flute. (I am prejudiced!) That would provide a nice foundation to venture out from.

The parents loved the music, also. 'Red River Valley' was a hit with one mom. She said it brought back great memories. I like hearing that! And, it's fun seeing all the smiles!

Apparently two large groups came into the museum yesterday specifically to see me. Turns out the local newspaper had printed the wrong performance date for me. Bummer. I don't know how that publication stays in business. That's not the first time I've heard of that happening with them. They are an embarrassment to the local media, in my opinion.

I was told that more and more people are calling and asking when I'm going to be at the museum. Callers state they are waiting until I'm there to visit the museum. Woohoo!! (A little back patting never hurt anyone.)
